Head instructor Grant Bannister has been teaching since 1977. 

Sensei Grant was the only Victorian Martial Artist to be recognised by The Australian Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2017. He has been a personal bodyguard to a number of stars, including Olivier Newton John. Bob Galdoph (Boomtown rats) etc.

His greatest claim is that he through Bukido has helped thousands of students to become great citizens and martial arts athletes.

Our mission at Bukido Martial Arts is to teach students to dedicate themselves to change and better themselves through martial arts. We truly believe that by instilling tradition, family values, life skills and culture, that we can provide life stepping stones to get them through tough challenges including negative peer pressure.

We set our standards by reinforcing positive change through training their mindset to grow and rise as a team, all while staying individually focused to create a black belt mindset. We pride ourselves on teaching Bukido Karate creating a purpose-driven to develop young martial artist that will carry on these skills the rest of their lives.
